Jssn Fatal Train Derailment In Chicago It seemed, at first, like a mystery: Why did three people - stanley uk an elderly couple and then, two months later, an 11-year-old boy -die in the same North Carolina hotel room In the absence of obvious evidence, some Internet commentersblamed the spooky side of things and raised the specter of a haunted hotel in the immediate aftermath of the third death. The reality, officials later revealed, was nothing so fantastical: The victims had beenexposed to elevated levels of carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas that results in hundreds of accidental deaths in the United States every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.Carbon monoxide, nicknamed the silent killer because it is nearly impossible to detect without equipment, is produced by appliances and other items that often generate combustion fumes - generators, furnaces, water heaters, automobile and boat engines, space heaters, grills, fuel-powered tools. When carbon monoxide is concentrated in an enclosed space it displaces oxygen in the blood, depriving vital organs. It can lead to serious tissue damage and death, with victims losing consciousness and suffocating within minutes of exposure. CBS Many stanley cup people exposed to carbon monoxide may assume the symptoms, which can include headaches, fatigue and vomiting, are tied to something else: A flu or stanley cup tainted food, perhaps. and for many doctors, the last thing that t Zknx Bill Clinton Hopes An Alien Invasion Would Bring Humans Together Our lives are chronicled from space these days. Khit U.S. Prosecutor Caught In Child Sex Sting BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Gov. Uoer Water biking: A new kind of commute A grand jury declined Monday to indict a bus driver in connection with the deaths of 23 passengers killed in a fire that destroyed the vehicle as they fled Hurricane Rita in September. The Dallas County Sheriff s Office had forwarded to the district attorney 23 cases of criminally negligent homicide to consider against Juan Robles Gutierrez, 37, a Mexican immigrant. The bus, owned by Global Limo Inc. caught fire stanley cup uk Sept. 23 from a malfunctioning back wheel. After the fire started, oxygen tanks used by some of the patients on the bus began exploding. The grand jury s decision not to indict Robles would not be a setback for the department s investigation, said Sgt. He did everything any human would have done. Carlos Robles Gutierrez said he was glad to hear that his brother was cleared. A Northern California wildfire raging out of control on Friday grew to more than three-times the size of the city of San Francisco as it spread inside the border of Yosemite National Park. The flames have also forced the evacuations of hundreds from homes.California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokesman Daniel Berlant said Friday the blaze had grown from 99 square miles to more than 165 square miles and was only 2 percent contained.Berlant said the stanley website fire threatens about 4,500 residences.
